Branford Mourns Tragic Death of ’14 BHS Grad

By Matilda Kreider Today the Branford High School community mourns the loss of one of our own. Vitalya “Tally” Sepot, a member of the BHS Class of 2014, was killed in a one-car accident in Pennsylvania Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred while she and six other members of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity were returning to Pennsylvania State University after a charity event. She was a sophomore at Penn State. The others in the SUV at the time sustained non life-threatening injuries. Police said the accident occurred when the SUV swerved before flipping on the highway in the Philadelphia area. Friends remember Tally as an amazing friend who always had a smile on her face and got the most of everything she did in life. Many described her as a ray of sunshine in their lives. She will be missed by her friends, family, classmates, coaches, and teachers at both BHS and Penn State. Vigils in Tally’s honor will be held Tuesday September 29 at 7:30 pm on the Town Green and on Wednesday September 30 at 8:00 pm on the BHS turf field. Everyone is welcome. Let this be a reminder to Branford students to hold your loved ones near, squeeze all the good you can out of each day, and please remember to drive safely.
