Branford Public Schools should maintain the mask mandate past Feb. 28; it’s still too early to regress from taking measures against the spread of Covid-19. It’s understandable that people want to move on from the pandemic, but it’s an unfortunate reality of our time.

It’s an appropriate time to end the mask mandate in Branford schools. This will not prohibit those who are inclined to wear a mask from wearing one. Instead, it simply allows for students to exercise their right to not wear one if they so please.

Last school year was a year of ups and downs. At first, remote learning was a massive adjustment for both students and faculty. Yet by the spring, there were glimmers of hope. All students were able to be back in school by April, and seniors had their prom, class trip, and an in-person graduation at the end of the year — previously thought impossible.
How necessary are mental health days? During these last few years, issues of mental health have emerged. The new school calendar reduces three full days to half days. What do you think of this change?
