BHS is introducing a new “8 drop 2” schedule for next school year, increasing the number of student classes per day but shortening each period to about 60 minutes.
School officials said it will provide new and better learning for students. Some students have signed a petition against the change.
Branford High is offering eight new courses to students who are beginning this week to register for classes for next school year.
The new courses, which were recently adopted by the Board of Education, will “open many doors for our students.”
A need for more supervision in the bathrooms has prompted BHS officials to implement an electronic hall pass system this year which has had mixed reactions from students and teachers.
Branford High School juniors Lilly Geddes and Grace Grammatico were recently honored for their outstanding writing through a contest sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English.
